Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 June 2026

This is a plain-English document. It will be expanded when the NoteMock app launches.

This policy explains what personal data NoteMock collects when you visit this website or join the waitlist, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We've written it in plain English because privacy policies should be readable, not impenetrable.

Who we are

NoteMock is operated by Hudson, a sole trader based in the Republic of Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our supervisory authority is the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC), Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2.

For all privacy questions and data-rights requests, contact us at hello@notemock.com.

What data we collect and why

NoteMock is a pre-launch site. The only personal data we collect is what you provide when you join the waitlist:

  • Email address — so we can contact you when NoteMock launches.
  • Source tag — which form on the page you used (e.g. "hero" or "footer"). This helps us understand which parts of the site drive the most interest.
  • Browser user-agent string — collected automatically by our infrastructure. This is a technical identifier your browser sends with every web request.
  • Country — derived by Cloudflare from your IP address at the moment of submission. We do not store your IP address itself.

We do not collect your name, phone number, payment details, or any special-category data.

Legal basis

We process your email address and associated submission data on the basis of your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You provide consent freely when you complete and submit the waitlist form. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us — see "Your rights" below.

How we store your data

Waitlist data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database (SQLite hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure). Cloudflare acts as our data processor under a Data Processing Addendum. Data is stored within Cloudflare's global network; the primary region is configured to the EU/EEA. For more on Cloudflare's data practices, see cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

How long we keep your data

We keep your email address and submission metadata until whichever comes first:

  • The launch communication is complete (we've emailed you that NoteMock is live), or
  • You ask us to delete your data.

After that we delete your record from our database within 30 days.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address or any other personal data. We share data only with Cloudflare as our hosting and infrastructure provider, as described above. No marketing companies, data brokers, or third-party advertisers receive your data.

Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies. We use your browser's localStorage for two purposes only: remembering your theme preference (nm-theme) and noting that you've already joined the waitlist (nm-joined). Neither value leaves your device. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

Your rights under GDPR

As a data subject in the EEA/UK you have the following rights, which you can exercise at any time by contacting hello@notemock.com:

  • Access — ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restriction — ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved.
  • Portability — ask for your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests (not applicable here since we rely on consent, but the right exists).
  • Withdraw consent — you can withdraw at any time; this doesn't affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

We aim to respond to all rights requests within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Changes to this policy

When NoteMock moves from pre-launch to a live product, this policy will be significantly expanded to cover uploaded notes, generated tests, payments, and account data. We will notify waitlist members by email before any material changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.
